Fred Johnson has been arguing with books for as long as he could read them, because obviously books will magically get better if you complain loud enough at the pages. He is a Salem senior with a love of storytelling in all its forms, from the language of film to the mechanics of prose, enjoying every genre under the sun, though with a soft spot for convoluted sci-fi. He regularly attends writing workshops in hopes of improving his writing, even winning an award for consistently outstanding work from the 2025 Michigan Interscholastic Press Association summer journalism workshop. When not hiding from people in a pile of books, he can be found mostly failing to pick up new skills at his home in Canton, Mich., where he lives with his mother and two very annoying dogs.
