Plymouth High School evacuated after receiving bomb threat

Plymouth High School was evacuated after receiving a bomb threat following the conclusion of the April 17 school day.
According to a statement by the district, the building and nearby sports fields were evacuated as a precaution after the threat was called in.
A number of government entities, including Canton Police, P-CCS security, the Wayne County Airport Authority, Farmington Hills, Oakland County, the ATF, The City of Ann Arbor, the Great Lakes Water Authority and Trinity Health were involved in a search of the premise, which ultimately resulted in an “all clear” being issued.
“We would like to thank Canton Township Police, our P-CCS School Safety and Security Team, as well as all of the cooperating law enforcement partners for their timely response and thorough investigation,” said P-CCS Superintendent of Schools Monica Merritt in a statement. “The safety and well-being of all students and staff remains the number one priority of Plymouth-Canton Community Schools.”
School is scheduled to resume as normal for Tuesday, April 18.
