Meteyer steps down as Plymouth AD

Kyle Meteyer, Assistant Principal of Athletics and Activities at Plymouth High School, has decided to resign his current position and accept a job at Lake Orion High School. Meteyer’s last day at Plymouth High School will be  Nov. 2.

Meteyer said that he has an hour-long commute to get to his job at Plymouth. “While working for the students at Plymouth has been extremely rewarding, I can do a better job if I am a closer member of the school community,” said Meteyer. “I’ll be able to contribute even better to the school community [in Lake Orion] while also achieving a better balance of work and family that we all need.”

“I truly look forward to keeping an eye on P-CEP from afar, and reading about P-CEP’s many successes in the future,” said Meteyer.

Meteyer previously worked at Salem High School as an English teacher, and coached soccer and track and field at Plymouth before accepting the position as Plymouth’s Administrator of Athletics and Activities in 2013. In his role, Meteyer got Plymouth Athletics involved in the Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality (RISE), an organization that uses sports to improve race relations. Meteyer also served on committees for the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA), the organization that runs sports for the state of Michigan.

No announcement has been made on a replacement for Meteyer.
