Coming from a quiet, infinitely imaginative world where books are everywhere, Salem senior Sydney Lai joined the noisy environment of journalism by becoming a member of The Perspective for the 2025-26 school year, where she works to turn ideas into meaningful stories. Through journalism, Sydney is excited about meeting new people and hopes to share their experiences, believing that every voice should be heard. At home, Sydney has three family members that she loves to spend time with, including her two-year-old golden retriever, Biscuit. Next year, Sydney will be attending Eastern Michigan to study pre-law. With both passion and purpose, she hopes to make an impact on the world and to spread awareness to ensure that every story told is true and accurate.
